Latest news from Crocodile Kruger Safari lodge 19 July 2010...

The bar on the 1st floor patio with 180 degree views of the Crocodile river and the Kruger National park was opened for the Soccer World Cup and proved to be a great success and was very popular with our international and local visitors. The bar is fitted with a large LCD TV and the guests soccer viewing was frequently interrupted with sightings of elephant and buffalo herds coming down to drink at the river.

On one occasion our guests were lucky to spot four cheetahs on the floodplain.

This facility will in future be available for guests who do not want to miss out on their favorite sporting event while in the bush.

We would like to invite you to bring your mountain bikes along when visiting the lodge next time. We will provide you with a map of the park and will assist you in choosing a route that will suit your fitness level.

Routes along the Crocodile River next to the Kruger National Park are the most popular as sightings of the big five are possible. With all the game in Marloth Park one can expect regular close encounters with Giraffe, Zebra , Wildebeest etc on an early morning ride.

Other good news is that Waterbuck and Nyalas were recently re-introduced to the park. (These animals were exchanged for impalas with a nearby reserve.) We will monitor sightings of these to see if they will settle in our section of the park as we are so near the river.
